Everyone deals with pressure. Whether it’s related to work, relationships, health, or major life decisions, the feeling of being overwhelmed is a shared human experience. While people cope in different ways, music has quietly become one of the most common and trusted tools for getting through it.

From private playlists to packed concert venues, music offers more than entertainment. It gives people a way to manage stress, shift their mood, and feel like they’re not alone in what they’re going through. This article explores how music functions as a pressure release in real life, and why it works for so many people.

Music Creates A Mental Break

One of the most immediate effects of music is its ability to break the loop of constant thinking. When people feel under pressure, thoughts often spiral. Music interrupts that cycle, even if only for a few minutes. That pause is often enough to reset.

For many people, listening to music is one of the few things that still feels personal and undemanding. You don’t have to respond, explain, or produce anything. You just listen. Whether it’s through headphones at home, in the car during a long drive, or blasting through speakers at a venue, that shift in focus can make a real difference.

The science behind this is also solid. Research shows that listening to music can lower cortisol levels, the hormone related to stress. It also stimulates parts of the brain connected to emotion and memory, which helps people access calm or even hope in hard moments. You can read more about the effects of music on the brain on the site.

Sound Gives Space To Feel

Some people don’t want solutions when they’re under pressure. They just want space. Music gives that without judgment. You can put on a song that matches your mood, and suddenly it feels like something outside of you gets it. That’s something most advice can’t do.

A lot of people say that music helps them feel things they’ve been avoiding. It helps let out tension without needing to talk. That matters during pressure-heavy periods, especially when emotions are unclear or mixed. You can be confused, angry, exhausted, and still find a place for it all in a few minutes of sound.

This is also why some people use music to help with sleep, crying, or just sitting quietly. It offers permission to feel something and move through it instead of pushing it down. For many, this is the first step toward dealing with what’s really going on.

Music And Movement Help With Control

When people feel like they’re losing control in life, one thing they often still have control over is music. You can choose what you hear. You can skip, repeat, stop. That sense of choice helps more than it seems.

This is also why dancing, even alone, can feel so freeing. It’s not about being a good dancer. It’s about letting your body move in a way that doesn’t follow pressure. Whether it’s at home in your kitchen or out with friends, music combined with movement can create a shift that words can’t.

For people who are facing high-pressure situations around their future, their health, or their relationships, these moments of control matter. They provide a break from feeling stuck. In situations involving serious planning – such as health treatments or long-term family planning – some people use music to stay grounded while dealing with big decisions. If you’re exploring something like a fertility centre ivf, using music to manage the emotional side can be a helpful tool during that journey.

Music Lets You Step Out Without Leaving

Sometimes the pressure isn’t just internal. It comes from outside – other people, constant messaging, expectations. In those cases, music becomes a way to leave without going anywhere. It creates a separate space, even if you’re still physically in the same place.

Putting on headphones can act like a signal. It tells the world: not now. It gives people space to be on their own terms, even in the middle of a crowded room or a noisy house. It also helps people imagine different realities. Songs can transport you somewhere calmer, funnier, sadder, or stronger. That imagined space can provide emotional relief that’s just not available in the moment.

This is one of the reasons music is so common in therapy, healing, and recovery environments. It helps people hold on to a feeling or memory they might need to revisit later, but at their own pace and in their own way.

Conclusion

Music won’t fix everything, but it doesn’t have to. Its strength is in what it allows – space, breath, release, control. Whether it’s used to break a thought spiral, to sit with a feeling, or to create temporary distance, music gives people a practical way to deal with pressure without having to explain anything to anyone.

People return to music again and again during hard times because it works quietly. It’s always available, doesn’t judge, and meets people where they are. That kind of support is rare. And in a world full of noise and expectations, a few minutes with the right song can feel like exactly what’s needed to keep going.

A few years ago, most people found music through radio, friends, or going out. You’d buy an album or download a song you liked, and you’d probably listen to it over and over. Today, that’s changed. Most music discovery now happens on platforms like Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, and TikTok. These services don’t just give us access to music – they shape what we hear and, slowly, what we think we like.

This shift didn’t happen all at once. But now that algorithms are involved in almost every listening session, it’s worth asking: are we still choosing what we like, or are we getting used to what we’re given?

Algorithms Influence What Gets Played

The biggest music platforms use algorithms to decide what to show you next. Whether it’s Spotify’s “Discover Weekly,” YouTube’s auto-play, or TikTok’s For You page, most people aren’t typing in exactly what they want – they’re reacting to what pops up.

This changes how we relate to music. Instead of listening to an album or artist because we went out of our way to find it, we’re now more likely to engage with songs because the system chose them for us. And it’s not just about taste – it’s also about timing. If a certain type of track fits your listening habits at 10 p.m. on a Thursday, the algorithm remembers that. It learns your patterns and feeds them back to you.

At first, this feels convenient. But over time, it can make your listening habits narrow, even if it feels like you’re discovering something new.

We Listen In Shorter Sessions

Another way platforms have changed music is by changing how long we listen. Albums used to be the norm. Now it’s playlists, singles, or 15-second clips. Many listeners skip after 30 seconds if a song doesn’t catch them – and platforms notice.

This affects how music is made. Some artists now write songs that hit quickly because they know people won’t wait. Intros are shorter. Choruses come faster. Some songs are built around viral moments or background moods instead of full emotional journeys.

It’s not necessarily bad – it just means the format is shifting. But the downside is that people often stop listening deeply. It’s easier to tune out halfway or treat music like background noise. That changes how we form connections with songs and how much we remember them.

Personalization Is Not Always Personal

One of the selling points of modern music platforms is personalization. They claim to understand your taste and give you more of what you like. And sometimes, that works. But often, what you’re really getting is a version of what’s already performing well across the platform – songs that already fit the system’s metrics for success.

That’s why a lot of playlists start sounding the same. Chill beats, clean production, short run-times. A certain mood. A certain tempo. It’s not that people don’t like variety – it’s that variety is being filtered in a specific way. This can make it harder to stumble onto things that feel different or surprising.

Over time, this shapes your idea of what’s normal or what you like, even if it’s just the result of repetition. The more you hear a style, the more familiar it feels. And the more familiar it feels, the more likely you are to listen again.

Music Feels Disposable

Because there’s always something new playing, music can start to feel disposable. You hear a song you like, save it, play it a few times, then move on. A few years ago, people had favorite albums they stuck with for months or even years. Now, most people can’t name more than a few tracks they’ve really spent time with recently.

This has less to do with taste and more to do with how platforms deliver content. There’s always another recommendation. There’s always something new. And that constant flow makes it harder to slow down and really connect with a song.

Some listeners notice this and push back. They go back to listening to full albums or collecting vinyl just to experience music in a different way. But for most people, the cycle continues – fast, endless, and forgettable.

Conclusion

Music platforms have made listening easier, but they’ve also changed how we interact with sound. We’re not just choosing what we like anymore – we’re being trained by systems that watch, learn, and suggest. Over time, that shapes not just what we hear, but how we feel about it.

This doesn’t mean music is worse, or that listeners are lazy. It just means the environment has changed. If we want more from music – deeper connection, more variety, better memories – we might need to listen differently. Not just passively, but with intention. Because at the end of the day, music still matters. We just have to decide whether we want to be shown what to like, or figure it out for ourselves.

Let’s talk about high-resolution audio. It has been gaining popularity recently, not only among audiophiles but also among people who appreciate good sound quality at home. High-resolution audio aims to capture and reproduce music as closely as possible to its original recording.

To enjoy high-resolution sound at home, you need special equipment. For example, AV receivers. This is what we will talk about today: what this format is, its features, how and with what equipment it can be played back, etc. There will be a lot of interesting information, so let’s spend the next few minutes together.

Understanding high-resolution audio

So, what exactly is this hi-res audio format? It’s a sonic experience that goes beyond what we typically hear from standard audio formats like MP3s. It’s like upgrading from a regular movie to an HD extravaganza.

So, what sets high-resolution audio apart from the usual tunes we stream or download every day? It’s all in the details, literally. Hi-res audio packs more data into every second of music. This is where ‘bit depth’ and ‘sampling rate’ come into play. Bit depth is like the audio’s paint palette – the higher it is, the more shades of sound you get. And the sampling rate? It’s how many times the audio is captured per second. High-resolution tracks use a bigger bit depth and a higher sampling rate than standard files, meaning you get a richer sound.

With HD audio, you’ll experience unparalleled clarity and accuracy in every note. Imagine hearing every breath taken by your favorite vocalist, every pluck of the guitar strings, or the tiniest cymbal clash in a drum kit. That’s the kind of level of detail and depth that hi-res audio can bring to your listening experience.

From a broader perspective, high-resolution audio can also reveal hidden depths in songs that you never knew existed. It can present details and subtleties that reveal themselves only through a higher-quality format.

The evolution of home audio formats

Remember the days when vinyl ruled? Those large discs were more than music carriers; they were like holding a piece of art. Then CDs burst onto the scene, compact and shiny, promising crystal-clear sound in a much smaller package. At the time, I was blown away by how many songs you could fit into that little disc!

But then, digital happened. At first, I was skeptical. The convenience was undeniable – who doesn’t love carrying the entire music collection in the pocket? However, something felt off. The richness and warmth I loved in vinyl and even CDs seemed diluted. Digital formats lost some of that audio magic in their quest to be compact. It was like watching your favorite movie on a fuzzy screen – you get the story, but the experience is lackluster.

Here’s where the plot twists: the resurgence of high-resolution audio. It’s like we all collectively realized, “Hey, we don’t have to settle for subpar sound!” High-res audio brought back that depth and detail I missed, making digital music convenient and truly immersive. I remember the first time I listened to a hi-res track; it was like hearing my favorite song for the first time again. The layers, the nuances – it was all there.

AV receivers and high-resolution audio

A budget AV receiver would be well-suited for the task when you’re looking for a solid choice without breaking the bank. They’re like the conductors of an orchestra, seamlessly blending various high-res audio sources into one harmonious output.

Modern AVRs are incredibly convenient. These models are equipped with built-in DACs (Digital-to-Analog Converters) that are necessary for converting digital high-resolution files into the detailed and lush sound we all desire. In addition, they support various music file formats, such as FLAC, WAV, DSD, and many others.

These days, AV receivers are not shy about flexing their network muscles. With Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities, streaming high-res audio from your favorite online platforms or devices is a breeze.

Sources of high-resolution audio

Alright, so where do you get your hands on this amazing high-resolution audio? There are a few cool options out there. First up, streaming services. Yes, the same ones we use daily are stepping up their game. Many now offer high-res audio tracks – it’s like finding hidden treasures in your usual playlists.

Then there’s the world of downloads. Websites dedicated to high-quality music offer tracks in formats like FLAC or WAV. It’s like going to a gourmet food store, but for your ears – everything just tastes, or rather sounds, better.

And let’s not forget about physical media. Remember SACDs (Super Audio CDs)? They’re like the vinyl records of the digital age. Popping one into a compatible player is like stepping into a studio where the album was recorded. The depth and clarity are mind-blowing.

Now, the cool part is how these sources play nice with AV receivers. Modern receivers are pretty much ready to handle all these formats. They’re like the universal translators for high-res audio. You plug in your music source, and suddenly, your living room transforms into a concert hall or a jazz club, depending on your mood.

Do you love listening to music? If so, you’re not alone. Millions of people around the world enjoy listening to their favorite songs. Did you know that music can be created with electronic devices?

Electronic devices that are used to create music include synthesizers, drum machines, and samplers. Synthesizers are electronic instruments that can generate a wide variety of sounds. They are often used to create the lead melody in a song. Drum machines are electronic devices that generate rhythms and beats. Samplers are electronic devices that can record and playback sounds.

There are many benefits of using electronic devices to create music:

  • One benefit is that you can create any sound that you want. If you can imagine it, you can probably create it with an electronic device;
  • Another benefit is that these devices often come with built-in effects that can add more depth and dimension to your music;
  • Finally, using electronic devices to create music can help you develop your musical skills. By experimenting with different sounds and effects, you can learn a lot about music composition and arrangement;

In this blog post, we will discuss some of the most common electronic devices that are used to create music. We will also talk about the benefits of using these devices and how they can help you improve your musical skills!

Popular Electronic Devices to Create Music

Audio Interfaces

An audio interface is a device used to convert analog audio signals into digital audio signals. Audio interfaces are used in a variety of settings, including recording studios, live sound venues, and home studios.

Audio interfaces typically have inputs and outputs for microphones, instruments, and line-level sources. Some also have MIDI inputs and outputs for controlling virtual instruments and other devices.

Most audio interfaces connect to a computer via USB or Thunderbolt, although some models use Firewire or Ethernet.

Audio interfaces can be standalone units or they can be built into mixing consoles or other larger pieces of equipment.

Popular audio interface brands include Focusrite, Universal Audio, Presonus, Steinberg, and Zoom.

MIDI controllers

These electronic devices are used to create and manipulate sounds. They can be used to play notes, trigger samples, and control effects. MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) controllers come in a variety of shapes and sizes, from simple ones that look like keyboards to more complex ones that have multiple pads and faders.

MIDI controllers are an essential piece of equipment for any electronic musician. If you’re just starting, you may want to consider getting a primary keyboard controller. As you become more experienced, you can add more specialized controllers to your setup.

Popular MIDI controller brands include Akai, Korg, Native Instruments, and Novation.

Equalizers

Equalizers are used to adjust the level of specific frequencies in an audio signal. They can be used to boost or cut certain frequencies, which can help you achieve the desired sound (e.g., making a guitar sound brighter or a kick drum sound more powerful).

Equalizers come in a variety of types, including graphic equalizers, parametric equalizers, and shelf equalizers.

Graphic equalizers have fixed frequency bands that you can boost or cut using knobs or faders. Parametric equalizers give you more control over the exact frequencies you want to adjust. Shelf equalizers let you boost or cut all frequencies above or below a certain point (i.e., high-pass and low-pass filters).

Popular equalizer brands include Behringer, DBX, Yamaha, and Mackie.

Compressors/Limiters

Compressors and limiters are used to control the dynamics of an audio signal. They can be used to reduce the level of loud peaks (e.g., a drum hit), or to increase the overall level of a signal (e.g., vocals).

Compressors typically have controls for threshold, ratio, attack, release, and makeup gain. Limiters are similar to compressors but they have a higher ratio and they prevent the signal from going above a certain threshold (i.e., they act as a brick-wall filter).

Popular compressor/limiter brands include DBX, Drawmer, Focusrite, and Waves.

Synthesizers

Synthesizers are electronic devices that are used to generate sounds. They can imitate existing sounds (e.g., a piano) or create new and unique sounds (e.g., an electric guitar). Synthesizers are used to generate sounds by generating waveforms in a variety of ways, including subtractive synthesis, additive synthesis, and frequency modulation synthesis.

Synthesizers come in a variety of types:

  • Analog synthesizers use voltage-controlled oscillators to generate sound;
  • Digital synthesizers use digital signal processing to generate sound;
  • Virtual analog synthesizers use algorithms to emulate the sound of analog synthesizers;

Popular synthesizer brands include Korg, Roland, Yamaha, and Moog.

Effects Units, Reverb, Delay, and Looping Devices

These devices can be used to process and manipulate the sound of an electronic instrument or voice. They can also be used to create special effects, such as echo or delay. Some effects units can be used to create loops, which allow a musician to repeat a section of music over and over again.

Reverb is an effect that simulates the sound of an acoustic space, such as a room or concert hall.

Delay is an effect that repeats a sound after a short period.

Looping is a technique that allows a musician to repeat a section of music indefinitely.

Effects units are available in both hardware (physical) and software (virtual) form factors. Hardware effects units are usually rack-mounted, while software effects units can be used with a laptop or desktop computer.

Electronic musical instruments can be played alone or in combination with other instruments. They can also be played through a loudspeaker system or headphones. When multiple electronic instruments are played together, this is known as an ensemble performance.

If you’re interested in creating music with electronic devices, there are a few things that you need to know:

  • First, you’ll need to choose the right device for your needs. There are many different types of electronic devices on the market, so it’s important to do your research before making a purchase;
  • Second, you’ll need to learn how to use the device. This may require reading the manual or watching tutorials online;
  • Finally, once you’ve mastered the basics, you can start experimenting with different sounds and effects! Who knows, maybe one day you’ll be able to create a hit song using nothing but electronic devices;

FAQ

How can I make my electronic music?

The answer to this question is not as simple as it may seem. There are a variety of electronic devices that can be used to create music, and the type of device you use will depend on the type of music you want to create.

For example, if you want to create dance music, you might use a drum machine or a synthesizer. If you want to create ambient or atmospheric music, you might use a sampler or an effects processor. And if you want to create rock or pop music, you might use an electric guitar or bass.

Of course, these are just some examples of the many different types of electronic devices that can be used to create music. The best way to figure out which device is right for you is to experiment with different devices and see what kinds of sounds you can create. There are no wrong answers when it comes to making electronic music, so don’t be afraid to experiment!

One important thing to keep in mind when creating electronic music is that the quality of your sound will largely depend on the quality of your equipment. If you’re using low-quality equipment, your music will likely sound low-quality as well.

Conversely, if you use high-quality equipment, your music will likely sound high-quality as well. Of course, this isn’t always the case – there are some very talented producers who can make great-sounding music even with low-quality equipment – but it’s something to keep in mind nonetheless.

What do most EDM producers use?

In the 21st century, electronic dance music has exploded in popularity. Anyone with a functional home computer and access to digital audio workstation (DAW) software may produce EDM music. So, what electronic devices do most EDM producers use to create their music?

Most EDM producers use some form of audio interface to connect their computer to external speakers or headphones. This allows them to hear the music they are creating as they are making it, and also gives them the ability to record their creations.

In addition to an audio interface, most EDM producers also use a MIDI controller. A MIDI controller is an electronic device that produces sound when connected to a computer. MIDI controllers come in many different shapes and sizes, but they all serve the same purpose: to allow the user to create music by controlling the sound that is produced by the computer.

Finally, many EDM producers also use external synthesizers to create their music. A synthesizer is an electronic device that produces sound by generating electrical signals.

Synthesizers come in many different forms, from small desktop units to large modular units. They can be used to create a wide variety of sounds, from traditional instruments to completely new and unique sounds.

How do I start an EDM song?

If you’re new to creating electronic dance music, it can be helpful to start with a pre-made song template. You can find these online, or in some software programs. Once you have a basic understanding of how the song is put together, you can start experimenting with your sounds and beats.

Another way to get started is to use an online beat maker. These are usually very user-friendly and allow you to create simple songs without much experience.

Once you have a basic idea of how to create an EDM song, you can start experimenting with more complex sounds and rhythms. There are many great resources available online that can help you learn more about making electronic music.

Which is the best DAW (digital audio workstations) for beginners?

This is a difficult question to answer, as there are many different types of DAWs available on the market, and each has its own set of features and capabilities. Some DAWs are better suited for specific genres of music, while others may be more versatile.

Ultimately, the best DAW for a beginner is the one that they feel most comfortable using. Many manufacturers offer free trial versions of their software, so it’s worth trying out a few different options before settling on one.

Another important factor to consider when choosing a DAW is the type of computer you’re using. Some DAWs are only compatible with certain types of computers, so it’s important to make sure that your chosen software will work with your system. Macs and PCs typically have different types of audio interface ports, so you’ll need to ensure that your chosen DAW has the correct drivers for your computer.

Once you’ve decided on a DAW, it’s time to start thinking about the other hardware and software you’ll need to create music. Audio interfaces are an important piece of equipment for any musician, as they allow you to connect your instruments and microphones to your computer. If you’re planning on recording vocals or acoustic instruments, then you’ll also need a good-quality microphone. These days, there are many affordable options available, so it’s worth doing some research to find the best one for your needs.

Finally, don’t forget about the importance of having a good set of speakers. Your monitors will be your main way of hearing the music you’re creating, so it’s important to choose a pair that reproduces sound accurately. Active monitors are a good option for most people, as they don’t require an external amplifier.

There is no doubt that the music industry is a competitive one. Musicians and bands are always looking for new and innovative ways to market their music in order to stand out from the crowd. Some believe that using essays as a marketing tool may be a unique way to achieve this goal.

Essays can be used in a variety of ways to promote music. For example, an essay can be written about the band or musician, about the history of the genre of music that they play, or about the lyrics of one of their songs. In addition, essays can be used to promote concerts or albums.

There are several reasons why using essay writing services as a marketing tool may be a good idea for musicians and bands. First of all, essays are a great way to create exposure for a band or musician. In addition, they can help to build a relationship with fans by providing them with additional information about the band or musician. Finally, essays can help to sell records and tickets by creating interest in concerts or albums.

Overall, it seems that using essays as a marketing tool may be a good idea for musicians and bands who are looking to stand out from the competition and connect with their fans on a deeper level.

Essay And Its Influence On Music

An essay is a type of college paper writing that is typically longer in length than a standard article or blog post. Essays are often used for academic purposes, such as grading or entrance exams. Essays can also be used to explore a topic in more depth than is possible in a shorter form.

One of the most important aspects of an essay is its structure. An essay should have an introduction, body and conclusion. The introduction should introduce the topic and provide some background information. The body should discuss the topic in detail, and the conclusion should summarize the main points of the essay and provide some final thoughts.

One of the most common types of essays is the argumentative essay. In an argumentative essay, you argue for a particular point of view. You need to back up your argument with evidence, and you need to make sure your argument is logical and well-reasoned.

Many people believe that essays have had a negative impact on music. They claim that essays have made music less spontaneous and less creative. They argue that musicians are now more focused on creating clever melodies and catchy hooks than on creating meaningful lyrics.

What Is Music Education? – How Did It Develop, What Is The Connection Between Music And Education?

Music education is the process of learning about and making music. It can involve studying music theory, learning to play an instrument, and/or studying music history. Music education has been around for centuries, and there is evidence that it was being used in schools as far back as the 4th century BC. There is a strong connection between music and education, as both involve the use of sound to communicate ideas.

The Essential Guide To Music Education In Your Local Community – How It Affects Our Music, Lives And Work

The essential guide to music education in your local community outlines how education is important for our music, lives and work. Education helps us learn about new styles of music, connect with other musicians and develop our skills. It also provides opportunities to perform and collaborate with others. In addition, education can help us find jobs in the music industry. Ultimately, education is a valuable resource for musical growth and enrichment.

When selecting a music education program, it is important to consider the institution’s curriculum and teaching methods. Are they focused on classical training or do they also offer contemporary styles? Do they have experienced instructors with professional experience in the industry? It is also helpful to attend open houses or trial classes to get a firsthand experience of the environment and instruction.

In addition to traditional schools or programs, there are also community resources such as local music stores offering lessons, community bands and orchestras, and performance venues. These can provide opportunities for both learning and performance experiences.

The support of our local community is crucial for the success of music education programs. This includes government funding for public school programs as well as support from parents, businesses, and organizations. By investing in music education, our community can cultivate a vibrant musical culture and provide valuable opportunities for musicians of all ages.

Men I Trust is an indie band from Canada founded in 2014 by two high school friends from Montreal – Jesse Caron and Dragos Kyriak. After school, both entered the University of Laval and labored there until they learned about them, at least among the students.

At this stage, in 2016, they were joined by a girl named Emmanuel Prou. The band has a pretty nice chill sound, but without Emmanuelle they wouldn’t have done much. She not only has a wonderful voice, but also the character and presentation necessary for such music. In other words, she is incredibly good. But this is not a bright flashy attraction, but something more solid, thoughtful and at the same time fragile. In general, the group is doing well with her: behind a tour in China, 4 albums, including Forever Live Sessions 2020. And with such a muse everything will be fine with you.

At the New Year’s show Bud Light Seltzer Sessions Post Malone, known to everyone from the hits of Sunflower and Rockstar, once again proved that he really can in rock. Most of the rapper’s live performance was devoted to his own songs, but in the end he performed covers of Rooster by Alice in Chains and War Pigs by Black Sabbath.

The Rooster cover featuring Post Malone was played by guitar producer Andrew Watt, bassist Chris Cheney of Jane’s Addiction, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith. Slash joined them on War Pigs. The rapper did a great job with both songs. However, for those who saw him last year’s concert of Nirvana covers, this will not come as a surprise! It is worth noting that Post Malone performed his songs with live instruments and in places made the tracks heavier.

Glasgow is the crime capital of Scotland and all of Britain. And Barlinny Prison is the largest in Glasgow. In general, you can find quite a lot of peculiar personalities in it. Singer Jill Brown teaches music courses for prisoners here, and recently a label with the self-explanatory name Criminal Records was organized on her behalf. Jill believes these walls can be an inspiration for many potentially talented guys. And success in music will help them with further rehabilitation.

So far, it is planned to cooperate only with those convicts who have already been released or are being released. In the future, Criminal Records will start working with those who are still serving time. Although Jill herself admits that there are many difficulties in this, including ethical ones. Will the victims of these criminals be happy that the state is making them stars? So with those who are imprisoned for cruel or especially dangerous crimes, Criminal Records will not have business.

The best sound background for calming and relieving stress is silence, it’s a fact. But there is a particular paradoxical kind of silence that is most soothing. The silence of the forest is an example of a “natural acoustic system”, a whole ocean of sounds constantly filled with rustling foliage, chirping insects, singing birds, streams of water and the crackling of tree bark. Unfortunately, there are fewer and fewer of these loudspeakers, and the Sounds of the Forest enthusiasts are trying to preserve them at least digitally.

The idea came from the participants of the annual British Timber Festival. It takes place in a forest thicket, which they themselves are constantly expanding, planting new trees and cherishing the dream of creating their own huge forest. But in 2020, the festival failed to collect – a pandemic. So the participants decided to be together in at least the network space. This is how Sounds of the Forest was born – a site where you can listen to the sound of forests from all over the world.
